Cast irons are certainly still an option as they can be adjusted. Granted as mentioned, not to extremes. One thing I would ask if the shop will adjust a specific brand of cast iron club. For example, many places won't touch a Ping because they are very difficult to bend. The prefer to send them back to the factory. Just something to think about.

Everyone knows what you meant, but for future reference, when you put a + in front of your handicap, that implies that you give strokes. So a +26 handicap would be the greatest golfer that ever walked the earth, and you would be qualified to use forged clubs.

(It's Friday and I feel like being a smart @$$, sorry)

Maybe the Callaway X-forged irons would be good. The cavity back design will help you while you are improving and they seem traditional enough in shape and size to work the ball once you get back to a low handicap.

I'm in a similar boat, I'm comming from titleist DTR's a cavity back iron and played the Miz mx20's and they were easier to hit, more solid and more fun. I'm looking at mx 200, 300 but today am getting fitted and looking at Wishon 560, and also KZG Evolutions. If your going to get them made check these out as they may be what your looking for. As much as I would like to have the 300 or even mp52's I'm more confident with a bigger head. It allows me to concentrate more on my swing versus agonizing about hitting in the middle of the sweet spot. I also found I could fade the mx 20's very controlably the first time I used them. I am also getting tired on the offset I have in my Titleists.

In your instance youd probably be happier with the MX-1000s. They dont have the offset that most GI irons have, but they still have the big head and wide sole.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

I'm waiting for the MX 10 000 - here's a sneak photo.

    • I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.
    • Day 542, April 26, 2024 A lesson no-show, no-called (he had the wrong time even though the last text was confirming the time… 😛), so I used 45 minutes or so of that time to get some good work in.
    • Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
    • Oh yea, now I remember reading about you on TMZ!
