im like the skinny kid that still thinks he's fat, when comparing my ballstriking i guess
i actually hit the ball really well (but short game is pretty good too.......just lately)
im harder on myself than i need to be - i get pissed if a hit one thin or chunky on the range even

i think these forums have me scared of MB/Blade style irons
but thx to you im on a hunt - Titleist ZM or ZB's or maybe a 695, 690 MB.......maybe a Cleveland CG1 or CG Tour...hmmmm....

sorry, back to the OP

ZM/ZB's r sweet

For most players, I think the ap2 is a more suitable club.

For many handicap players, the AP1 would be the most suitable club!

I prefer the look of the AP2 to be honest. They feel much easier to hit aswell. The ZBs look really bad after a bit of bag clatter.

I brought the Ap2s a matter of a week ago. I actully gave them to my brother and im now looking at buying a set of Mb's or CB's. Ap'2 just don't have the same feel, has nothing to do with the topic, but I thought id just say so.
Now im shoting consistant rounds under par im happy to hit blades, even though I don't understand why I want to with how much more forgivness the new Irons give! I guess I like the blades because the flaten my high ball flight.

I really, really, really, really like my Zb's. :)

Some on this consider them to be the death of the game for a high handicap such as myself, but actually my index has dropped 4 strokes since I started playing them at the beginning of this season. I don't necessarily credit the irons for this, but they were not a negative either.

    • Day 36: back to some mirror work tonight. Need a bit more forearm roll in my feels to help with the shallowing.
    • _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.
    • Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.
    • I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
