Only time i work the ball is if its a longer shot. Its harder for me to work my lower irons. But if i have to bend a long iron on a par 5, i will.

I am pretty much a square set up guy, square to the target line, square club face at set up. So when i fade it, i will set up square, but my target line will be 10-15 yards left of the pin or location on the green. Then i will try to finish high and hold onto the club a bit more, holding off the release. this opens the club up and i usually can hit a nice high push fade.

For a draw, i will do the similar, aim 10-15 yards right of the green or location, and i will focus on finishing my hands lower lets say to the left of my left shoulder, a fade will be towards my left ear. This will put on a nice draw.

Its easier for me to manipulate the club through impact than try to set up with the clubface slightly closed, never liked how it looked and it never worked ;b
