Hello folks, I am new to this site and really new to golf. I have been to the driving range many times over the years, but never really considered golf as my sport. I always thought it to be boring, that is until i played for the first time 2 years ago. I borrowed clubs when i went on vacation with some friends and played 18 in the Poconos PA. It was another year until i played again this time i had bought a set of cheapo's and did horrible but had a ton of fun. I wanted to play more last year but we had 2 losses in our family and a bunch of things that just took up time.

One of the losses was my wifes grand dad whom was a big golfer. We got along great and he knew how much i enjoyed the sport even though i had only gone a few times. He left his clubs to me when he died and because of this i am taking some instruction and practicing alot. I went and played 18 last weekend and will be going more frequently this year. The challenge is the most frustrating thing i have ever done, but i go with the mindset of fun over frustration and it seems to work.

Gramps left me a set if dci 96 clubs, an adams tight lies driver, an odessey 2 ball putter, and some misc wedges. He also left a top flite iron set. I plan on using the titleist irons and adding the driver to my bag. From this day on i am going to learn on the titleist so i get used to them.

New guy from CT here too. Carefull with this sport as it is full on addictive. My grandparents got me hooked when I was younger some of my fondest memories. The wife's grandfathers clubs probably contain a life time of karma. Good luck with the game.

Another new member here from CT, I also got started recently when my grandfather gave me some old clubs. After getting new clubs and playing a lot over the summer, I think I can get on the course for my college team(atleast to practice!) come next fall. I can say after already being an athlete at school it really is the most addicting sport. Hope to learn a little to help my game here.

    • Day 13: 12/23/2024 A lot more mirror work today. Using my same swing thought. Some slow motion, some full motion, some in between. Today I made sure I took every swing all the way to the finish.
    • Day 234 (23 Dec 24) - Mystery Monday - what to do today….pretty straight up as I spent time with the 58 and a series of pitches (lower flighted all the way up to high fliers over the tulip tree).  Wrapped up the day going lower ball with the 9i and easy bump and runs.  Again as always the setup was key - case in point, got lazy and casually set up, feet straight and promptly hit a couple of nice heely shots hard right.  Knew it immediately, as next couple I went through the routine and flew the balls promptly too the target point.  Setup - setup - setup…
