Hybrids are generally easier to hit, as they're designed to 'cut' through the rough etc. Off the tee, I doubt there's much difference, minus shaft length etc and a 5 wood maybe having a larger head...i dunno

I really don't see a point in a 5 wood anymore, as 2h or 3h go just as far....

I think control with a hybrid is better too.

Yep, plus I no longer have a 3 wood cause my 1 hybrid is just too easy to hit to hit off the ground

A 3 hybrid is 21 degrees usually, a 2 hybrid is 19 (the same as a typical 5 wood) Just thought I would let you know, just incase.

Ummm I have both, I play a 5 wood in courses were they have wide fairways and the rough is not that think. And I play a Hybrid at courses with narrow and think rough.

Pros to a Hybrid: Gets the ball out of the rough eaiser, Usually a higher ball flight then the 5 Wood and Misshits seem to be a little less noticeable.
Con's To Hybrid: Harder then a 5 wood, to hit of a tee in my opinion and Usually wont go as far and aply more backspin witch is not good if you hit a high ball flight and alot of people seem to have problems with hooking Hybrids.
Pros to 5 Wood: Off the fairway they seem easier to hit, go futher off the tee and fairway is stuck well. (I tested this with callaways products on a launch mointer at one of there fitting nights, may not be the same for everyone) and 5 wood is harder to hit a ballon shot with.
Cons to 5 wood: Quite hard to hit out of the rough unless you have the shaft shortened and still it's quite hard to hit out of deep rough, Lower ball flight, witch could be a problem if you already hit the ball with a low flight , less forgivness on misshits.

I think your homonym checker is broken.

2h is 17 degrees (mine is anyway). I've never seen the need to put it in the bag for a round but the ball flight at the range is very low and very straight - very much like the 2-iron it would replace, if I hadn't already replaced the 2-iron with a 5-wood. 5-wood is 19 degrees and very easy to hit. I prefer the longer shaft in case the ball is below my feet. I can hit it high or low and have a lot of confidence going for a green with it. 19.5 degree Wilson Staff Fybrid is very similar to the 5-wood, but it's easier to work the ball and the flight is a bit higher than the 5-wood. The easiest one to hit is the Fybrid, but the most satisfying (most versatile and the one with the best results) is the 5-wood. It's actually kind of random - they're both good.
