This is not the attitude to have for golf. I remember watching the US amateur Championship in 1994 when Tiger Woods defeated Trip Kuehne, 2-up. One of the holes during the match, Tiger marked his ball and moved it out of the putting line of Trip Kuehne, after Trip Kuehne putted and Tiger replaced his ball ready to putt, Trip Kuehne alerted Tiger that he forgot to move his marker back after he moved it earlier. Trip Kuehne lost the US Amateur Championship to Tiger Woods 2-up. He lost the match but did not hesitate to do the right thing regardless of the outcome.

Golf is a game of integrity and Trip Kuehne showed it that day.

Unless it's with a buddy who can dish it out as well as he takes it, the answer is "none that won't make you an •••••••, no."

I love playing with a few guys who can talk some sh___. Nothing is more fun than trash talk during golf, you just have to know when to back off... as long as it's all in good fun and your opponent can take it.

I play with a guy off 8 a lot.

Just mention something about his swing... "are you trying to take the club back more inside, it sure looks like your swing is a little more flat today."

I think he's just fishing for some creative gamesmanship ploys - I doub't he's gonna use them.

Some of these enter the realm of being an ass in my book. I think getting in someone's head with a comment or trash talk is OK (see above), but moving and making noise during someone's swing or making a comment right as they are about to begin their takeaway is bogus. I know both myself and a few others I play with would all be OK with some serious smack talk or watch out for that water, but we would all be a bit pissed by someone walking directly behind us during our swing, or saying nooonan as we swung or otherwise. In my eyes one behavior is OK with buddys, one is being an a-hole regardless.

I wasn't insinuating you would... just trying to draw a line for the OP in case he was actually thinking of making a playbook from this thread. Sometimes people actually follow discussion board advice.

But I'd 10x rather play with a group that commends you on the good shots and says nothing on the bad ones, I play golf for fun but I take it seriously since I'm trying to improve
