Soft grips that don't get super slick in the rain?

I used to play with Win Excel grips which are super comfortable. I've put up my best scores of all time with these grips, BUT they are horrible if they get wet AT ALL. If it's starts raining, I just want to go home, because my round is basically shot due to the fact that I can't hold onto the clubs comfortably.... which in turn, means I start changing things in my swing to prevent this from happening, etc...always a BAD move.

SO... I decided to try other grips and my scores just got worse and worse as my right hand was just taking a beating.
I tried:

Golf Pride New Decade Multi--tears up my right index finger
Golf Pride Tour Velvet-same
Golf Pride Tour Wrap-feels hard as a rock. (maybe the new 2g's are different...we'll see i suppose)
Lamkin crossline-super slick. Felt like I was going to send the club flying everytime I would swing. Zero confidence with this grip.

I also tried the Winn DSI but they were slick in a different kind of way (hard to describe)

I have a firm grip, but I'm not "white knuckling" the club either. Solid, but not strangling the club.

I thought about giving the Golf Pride Whisper a try, but it seems as though they were discontinued.

I'm about ready to consider going to (ugh) 2 gloves if I can't get this resolved. However... the ridicule I will take for being "that guy" will be relentless from the guys I play with...lol

Anybody have any other ideas of a soft grip that doesn't turn into a slimy mess if it gets wet?

Lamkin N-Dur or Lamkin 3-Gen. I have good luck with these. Seem to be some of the better non corded grips when slick.....I can't stand corded grips for some reason so I was on a quest to find good tacky yet soft grips. The N-dur's are pretty expensive but I like them over the the New Decades that seems to be all the rage now...and they're a buck cheaper.

What's in my bag:

4-PW MP 57 Irons
CG14 52* Gap Wedge CG12 56* SW CG12 60* Lob Wedge CO3-hI push them around with my Linksmen X-7 cart.

So they're the "Softie" version of tour wrap? With the word "Softie" right on the grip? I put them on my Mizunos last year and, they're actually awesome - so far - only played in drizzle though.

I hear that Iomic grips are very tacky but I'm not sure how they perform in wet conditions. It seems to me like you've almost tried everything but since you liked the Winns, I would try to find something on their website that will suit you. That is, if you can find the right grip, otherwise I'd go back to your original Winn grip.

+1. Dude, the answer is right in front of you. Rain gloves- GOOD ONES. I have some footjoy ones that are decent, but the Zero Restriction ones that I have are unbelievable. They are awesome. If it starts raining, just get them as wet as possible, and they are awesome. Why change grips? Doesnt make a lick of sense to go away from your favorite nice weather grips to try to find something for conditions you play the minority of the time.

Karakal X-Tack. I've regripped a lot of clubs and these are every bit as comparable to all of the everyday name brands you used to. They're @$30 for 10 grips, they feel very nice and are really tacky. Stay away from the Karakal wraps though, I had problems with them.

I second this..!!! I love them perfect blend of everything, tacky, soft but yet firm enough for feed back. Don't know about the 2.79?? I paid 3.49 at Golfsmith but still a steal for this kind of grip at that price. The other thing I love about them is the standard size is a little bigger then say Golfpride standard, with just one wrap of the 2 sided tape they fit perfect in between regular standard and mid size.

they are SLIGHTLY, just SLIGHTY bigger than a standard GP MCND grip and will only allow 2 wraps of tape i did this for my buddies and they feel just like a midsized MCND grip for size to the OP - BUY THESE GRIPS!!!! they are amazing!

Those Zero Restriction gloves look sweet. $20 at Golf Warehouse. I'll be placing my order today. Also, I went with Winn Excel AVS AI Graphite/Red. A bit pricey at 5.60 per grip, but they felt SO much more comfortable in my hands than the others I had tried, and they weren't as "mushy" as the regular Winn Excel. I may have found a winner.

Thanks to all for helping me make my decision.

      Question About UK vs. U.S. Course Etiquette

      The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO

      Day 44 (26 Dec 25)  -  played in the Friday men’s shootout with a twist - used the Toney Penna persimmons and MacGregor blades - had a blast playing these clubs.  They really help in zoning in on making solid ball contact.  Scoring was solid - had several looks at birdie and had a few par saves.  Overall a day of focused course management.
