Hello from NC

Hello everyone, I just registered but have been lurking for a couple of weeks. I really enjoy the conversation on here and everyone seems really nice.

For most of my life, I have been a weekend warrior...never even bothered to figure out my handicap. In general I have been happy shooting around 100, but I am really trying to work on my game now.

I am at an oddly fortunate part of my life; I am unemployed (looking for a position that will allow me to attend school to finish my degree) but have funds available to somewhat enjoy myself. As such, I have taken my first couple of lessons and actually spent time trying to improve my game. Bought my own first set of irons (Callaway x-18r, used) and a driver (Taylormade 09 Burner) and I really enjoy them. Got both for ~260 used so I'm pretty happy about that. Having my own equipment has helped me motivationally, as odd as that sounds.

Just wanted to say hello :) sorry if I'm a bit long-winded.

Welcome and congrats on the new clubs. I can agree that an intial upgrade from some hand-me-down or starter clubs to something a little more substantial does a lot for confidence and motivation to improve.
