I'm a transplanted Bay Area boy...

Harding Park is the cream of the crop, but it's pretty expensive for non-SF residents. There's also the Presidio, but that's not terribly cheap either. Lincoln Park is a challenging layout, and reasonably priced (from what I remember).

I love Khoi Vinh's design of nytimes.com. Nice work on the CSS (but what's with the tables?) Must have been crazy project to work on.

Khoi's a good guy. I'll pass this forum thread on to him on AIM right now.

but he will be the first to tell you he didnt do the re-design lol. it was actually done by a third party and we implemented it in house.

the site has a large number of templates and none of them are tabled. the home page was the only one done to ensure legacy users could still use the site. (you can check out the article template, search results most popular etc etc for full CSS) but yeah...i could deff tell you some stories haha we looked into tickets from NYC but too pricey now! have fun for sure!!

So I went and played the Lincoln Park GC in SF ($36). I got paired up with two soldiers that just came back from Iraq and were on vacation. They totally ruled and I had a blast.

The course is pretty hilly and has some amazing views. Specially hole 17 which has a view of the Golden Gate bridge. We had to blast some balls in the ocean ofcourse.

However, the course had a LOT of people walking/hiking on it, which was kind of weird (and scary, since I suck and didn't want to hit anyone).

Also, the Web conference was amazing. I'm in this pic, find me and win props from me!

    • I've been putting whilst looking at the hole and it's definitely helped my distance control
    • I wonder if that is why my home course basically have no stakes now.  Not even markers.  It’s completely up to golfers to remember what is OB and hazard and how things used to be marked.     Even in tournaments, there is no marking and certain areas are played differently by different golfers who either don’t know better or use it to their advantage funny reading thru this with courses that actually have markers
    • is it though?????? "Millions of fans"?????
    • Great post, thanks for the informaiton. I try to avoid adding salt to anything I eat. I tend to add pepper on to my meals as opposed to salt. And I am trying to eat as clean on possible. On golf day, I eat 3 eggs for breakfast (pepper NO salt) and a salad for lunch, with grilled chicken thigs (pepper, garlic, no salt). I have been trying to avoid processed food, but we all slip. I also should have mentioned that the electrolyte packet calls for mixing with 16 oz of water, however I mix in 32 oz of water, so I dilute the electrolyte powder.
    • So if I read the news correctly, the PIF will not fund LIV after this season.  LIV is trying to find new funding and a number of players there are now asking about getting back to the Tour.    I am very, very concerned that Taylor Gooch will not have a place where he can make a jackass out of himself soon
