Just followed bubba on tourcast and after a superb eagle on 17 to put himself right into contention on sunday, he posts a double bogey on 18. this almost brings back memories of a few weeks ago at the international when he double bogeyed 17 after making himself a great chance to win Do you think the pressure gets to him too much or just a case of getting used to competing in the big league?

It's just a case of getting used to it I'd say. The fact that he is playing on the PGA Tour says that he is good enough and probably not a choker as has been alluded to. Think about it, he's been good enough and confident enough under pressure to qualify for the Nationwide Tour and then get on to the main tour this year. If he keeps putting himself in to contention for good finishes he'll soon work out how to finish one off and then it'll happen again and then again and again and next thing you know he'll be doing it consistently. The step after this one is playing well in the majors.

This is the guys first year in the big show and he's already earned more than enough to keep his card for next year, he's not just scratching around out there but doing ok for a first year player.

If you watch golf for long enough you begin to understand that it always takes guys a while to find their feet as they go up to each new level no matter how good you think they are early on. The ones who can hang around for a few years in a row and put together better and better seasons are the ones who seem to eventually come good. Every now and then a player comes along who seems to bypass the adjustment period, but most of them seem to take a while.

Remember, it takes years to become an overnight success.

You can earn a pretty good living on the PGA Tour finishing in the top 15 every week without ever actually winning anything...

Though technically, Bubba squeaked onto the PGA Tour because the top 21 got in (instead of the top 20). Jason Gore won on the PGA Tour and earned his card that way, so they expanded the eligibility requirement by one slot.
