i have two more one hour sessions with the instructor and my first lesson we only worked on my irons and the takeaway, also slowing my hips down in the backswing to stop me from slicing. Soi have got that pretty much figured out...

so i have 2 more lessons left and right now my driver/woods are pretty bad, for the last month i have had a nice fade with my driver but now for some reason it is turning into a slice, also my 3 wood has always been terrible

and of course who couldnt use more help with putting/chipping. So my question is what should we work on? right now my short is okay like its not killing my rounds but definitely would love to have it better. How should i spread the 2 hours out?

also how much could he really help me putting and chipping because im guessing for chipping we will be on the range and im not sure how much good chipping from the range would do.

You might structure Lesson 2 as mainly a mastery session on irons, with an alignment check on your woods at the end.

Then, Lesson 3 could be driver and 3W. You need to hit the fairway off the tee, and use 3W to create opportunities, not problems, from a long way out. Short game is critical for all golfers, but short game won't save you if most of your tee shots end up in Never-Neverland.

If you work well with this pro, set up a quick lLsson 4 to work on short game. Books by Dave Pelz and others are great for broad shortgame concepts, but you can make performance progress a lot faster with a short-game lesson tailored especially to you.

I had a short-game lesson about 10 years ago, when pitching and especially chipping were my strong suits. The pro showed me how I was over-relying on the 8-iron chip and run, and showed me some similar shots that worked better from shaggy lies.

Also, monitor your local golf shops like Golf Galaxy and Golfsmith. Sometimes manufacturers reps will give a free scoring clinic at these shops, and offer to sell you some wedges . At a recent Cleveland scoring clinic, I picked up one tip on chip-shot club alignment and a second on wedge ball positioning that both had immediate payoff: In a scramble two weeks ago, I put three wedge shots within 10 feet to set up birdies for my team.

Focus, connect and follow through!

You may have that one thing figured out, but you might not have the iron swing figured out after one lesson. The takeaway, sure, but he'll likely add something next time. Bring all your clubs anyway though, just in case you do skip ahead.
