I am a higher handicapper. I usually shoot in the 110's. I have been playing for about ten years but this is the first year I am trying to improve my game instead of just going out and knocking the ball around.

I am looking to add some newer fairway woods to my set. I am currently hitting a Ping G2 driver and really liking it. I mainly look at used equipment, I don't have the funds to go out and buy the newest latest greatest stuff.

Does anyone have experiance with these woods? Any recommendations on something else?

Thanks!

I'm also a high handicapper and I find that all fairway woods are very hard to hit (as far as a 3W). I'd look for a 5W or 4W. Try the Nike Sumos, they should be at a decent price and are pretty good fairway woods imo.

Yeah, definitely look into a 5 wood. Besides the Sumo which I agree is a good fairway wood, look at Adams and Callaway as well.

I picked up an 07 burner 3 wood and I love it. I can mash it off the deck with ease. I was turned off by the triangular look of the 08 (or maybe 09's) and went with the older version. I'm very happy with this club.

I hit the nike dymo 3 wood, but didn't like it at all. It seemed very bulbous to me. The burner is nice and thin with a fantastic weight to it. I wouldn't even play my old 3 wood off the deck due to inconsistency. Now, I don't think twice.

I am itching to hit the new Cobra Baffler Rail Fairway. Nobody around me has it yet but Cobra woods are pretty forgiving from my experience.

The g5 range has always been a really solid set. The difference between the g5 and g10 range in terms of fairway wood is that the g5s have a much more attacking leading edge to them. This is part of the reason why they still go for high prices comparative to their age. By high prices, i mean affordable, but just high considering they came out 3+ years ago.
