I am looking at getting a gps but nothing too fancy and stumbled across the Neo and Yardage Pro from Bushnell and just wanted to know if both offer shot distance or "mark your ball". Also which one is slimmer?

I personally would recommend a laser rangefinder but if you want to use a gps go ahead. i don't have an opinion on a good gps however

Best 9 holes: 35 (Trilogy at Redmond Ridge, 3163y, Par 35/70, 70.0/131)
Best 18: [b]77[b] (Palm Valley CC, 6545y, 71.4/126)
Notable career achievement: I have NEVER four-putt.

My friend has a sky caddie and I really liked it but for $100 the Bushnell's you can't beat.

I posted this on another thread yesterday. Hope this helps.

I have the Bushnell Neo. It's a little smaller version of the Yardage Pro. I love it. You need to pay the $35 dollars or so to download the courses. You can download 100 courses over the year and then you never have to pay the fee again unless you want to. I have found it to be very accurate and extremely helpful. It not only tell front, middle, and back of greens, but it will also let you get the exact distance of each shot you take. If you don't want something fancy, the price is right and it's a great little gadget.

I haven't seen the yardage pro except in pictures, but the Neo is about the size of an Ipod Nano.

A positive attitude will not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Dicks has the SG4 at $150 right now. It doesnt appear to be real fancy, but the price would be tough too beat.

have you considered the Izzo Swami ?
It retails for $99 and is only $10 a year.

It only shows distance to the front, back and center of the green. No mark shot or no hazard info.
High reviews on all my research I've done as a solid, cheap unit that just provides the basics.

After looking at multiple I am probably going to go on and get either the Sky Caddie SG4 or the Yardage Pro from Bushnell. Both are in my price range since I don't want anything too fancy just something to see distance to the front, center and back of the green plus my distance on every shot. After caddying for my friend in a tournament I had played the same course later on and barely finished before dark, I used his Sky Caddie to help him out and then he did the same for me and I ended up shooting 87; my best round to date. I am real excited about getting one, it helped me tremendously.

Thanks all

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
