Trying Different Drivers via Ebay

I don't expect a fitting service but subjective advice is welcome!

Today I received a Cleveland Launcher 330 from Ebay which I took to the range. As it has a stiffer shaft than my King Cobra it gave me an extra 15 yards carry and extra 10 yards roll. Great!

For less than $45 this little exercise combined improving my driving capabilities with keeping to a budget. What I am now considering is a rinse and repeat.

Saying as the Cleveland is quite an old model I'm wondering is there any driver I should be looking at of 2006-2008 vintage which in your experience is likely to add yards. My theory is that if I test another club and it doesn't make a difference I will resell it.

I appreciate any suggestions.

Maybe you should quit while you're ahead. An extra 25 yards combined is quite nice. Unless, of course, you were only getting 100 yds with the King Cobra.

In theory it works well. Couple of things to consider. In the US, shipping is going to run you $12 to $15. Also add in PayPal and eBay fees if you sell it. So let's say you turned around and sold that driver for $45. You still have some loss due to the shipping and fees. Still can be a great way to try clubs though.

Quitting while ahead is a valid option. Distances were (Range Balls/Lake Balls) Cobra 210 av. Carry 220 with roll. Cleveland (Stiff) 220 av. Carry 240 with roll. No data for distance with decent golf balls at this stage.

As for the costs I hope they are minimal in UK. I can see why I would take a small hit on each sale but I'm not going to be doing this very often.

You could look for a hammer, i heard those add huge distance.
