I'm looking to upgrade my R5 now with either one of these. What do u guys think is the better fit

I have the R9 SuperTri and love it. I tried the G15 when I was shopping and it was my second choice. I think they are both great drivers and you will be happy with either. Try them both and see what feels best to you.

I've demo'ed both and they're excellent drivers. Personally I'd give the edge to the Ping but it's mostly a brand loyalty thing. If you're coming up from an R5 and you like Taylor Made's equipment the R9 Super Tri would be the way to go.

No one's going to be able to tell you that but you.

My old driver was a TaylorMade Burner. I swapped last fall to the G15. I tried the R9 and thought it was ok. I was actually pretty disappointed since I do like TM drivers. Just didn't feel right. That being said, it may be the perfect driver for you. In my experience, the best way to buy a driver is to have a totally open mind and demo as many as you can. Forget the brand and buy the one that speaks to you.

i actually change my R5 last year for a ping G15, i've tried many different drivers and compare them to my R5, since i already had a taylor made driver the first one i ask to try was the R9, to be honest i was pretty disapointed, it felt pretty much exactly like my R5 and the numbers on the simulator were about the same for both drivers, i also tried the callaway FT9 and the callaway diablo but again when i took a look a the numbers on the simulator i didn't tought it was worth the money, couple of weeks later i got back to the store and tried the G15, felt great right of the bat so i end up going home with it and i am still very please about it. But again it really come down to personal preference so try them both and see how they feel. If you have any question feel free to ask.

In my sasquatch tour stand bag i carry
G15 driver 9 degree
diablo edge 3 wood
G10 5 wood
diablo 3 hybrid X-22 (4-pw) 588 (52 degree) (60 degree) redwood putter

Theres trade offs I personally think the r9 is a magic driver just over its ajustability and its innovation versus the pings extreme forgivnes but if u like taylor made i go r9 if u want a change go with the ping

No one's going to be able to tell you that but you.

When I went shopping for a new driver this is the attitude I took. I told the pro "here is what I want to hit, but if you can put something in my hands that I hit better I'm game". Ended up with one I would have never thought of.

I'm currently using a TM R7 460 that I hit pretty well, it's my 3rd TM driver. If you told me to got out today and based on the sticks I've hit in the last year and buy a driver, I'd buy the G15. I've hit it a few times and it's as long as my R7 and very forgiving (lots of drivers are). What won me over, however, was the solid feel of the G15. I just love the way that things feels. I hope to pick up a used one later this year or early next. Note that in my sig, it says I have G15 irons....well they are paid for and on order, hopefully I'll have them next week.

I just bagged a new driver and before doing so, I hit just about everything out there. All new clubs pretty much maxed out to allowable specs, so you should get good performance from either. I settled on the G15 and have not looked back. The adjustment capability of the R9 was appealing, but as my swing coach told me, " don't adjust the club to offset faults in your swing, work hard to fix your swing".

I got on a launch monitor many, many times and ended up with the G15. I hit it the furthest with the tightest dispersion. I actually had a tougher time picking out a loft and shaft, than I did picking the brand / model.

Give me a gift certificate for any driver, any price - it would by the G15. See what suits your eye at setup and what works with your swing.

Good luck.

Seems like ping really has a winner with the G15. Temptation to hit increasing...

Went and hit both the R9 460 and the Ping G15 yesterday. Bought the Ping later that night and could not be happier. Best of luck to you!

I also was very happy with the G15 9* for a few weeks, it was long and straight, a bit longer than most drivers I compared it to ...... my regular driver is only a bit longer 909 D2 10.5*, but with the 909 I can control the ball flight better ...... it is all about choices of course ....... now I went for the I-15 ...... many people say it is only for really low cappers, but that is not really the case .... if you hit most fairways with a 909 D2, you will also hit most fairways with the I-15 ...... and about 20 yards longer ..... and it looks hotter at the first tee aswell !

As with any club, go hit it for yourself and see. I, for the life of me, can't hit the G15 consistently well. I've really enjoyed the R9 when I demoed it. I almost bought one last summer but got too good a deal on the tour burner to pass up.

I have a G15 with an Aldila reg shaft and love it 10.5deg

Still launches it too high though so am swapping out for a blueboard stiff shaft
