Anyone else know anything about the mini-tours... and where I can find some new exciting, not so freaking hard to get into tours. Besides the National Golf Tour, and Grey Goose tour. Anything fun in the east to play... or does anyone know anything fun to do in the mid-atlantic. I need to play, im going crazy.

One of the best mini tours these days seems to be the Tarheel tour.

http://www.tarheeltour.com

5 of the more well known reginonal mini tours, tarheel tour included, just got bought by the US Pro Golf Tour. This is a developmental tour which Donald Trump has started helping out with (he sponsons one event). the Top 10 from each of these feeder tours will be able to play on the US Pro Golf Tour the following year.

Will try and post some more info with some links.

Theres also the Moonlight Tour in Central Florida which is very inexpensive and that feeds into the Next Tour. The NExt tour has bigger pots but the entry fees are very resonable, not like most mini tours ($600-$800 per event or $15,000 for the season)

Hope this helps

Well scratch that tarheel tour buy out. Seems like they cancelled it over concerns about how the US Pro Golf Tour was going to be run.

This is from a good blog that I regularly read thats written by a player playing very solidly on the Tarheel Tour this year:

    • With the hot weather……I’ll take a Gatorade please.
    • 60 minutes on the local school playing fields, trying to discover my former grip,I found it and used a lob wedge with which I was able to group 3 balls pretty near together, very happy to have found my old grip and its give me a lot more confidence so I can go have a round of golf with my brother and his step sons,I have not stepped on a course for 20 years, still I can hit my old yardages and that's great as I'm now 62...everybody have a great day
    • I have this issue as well. I play in a bi-weekly league and I generally work on my drills and feels as I'm playing in the league...lol. But to be honest, they really do not affect me in a bad way too much. If anything, my irons are actually more crisp.  The issue comes in when I transition to the woods....so I try to find a happy medium there for the time being. But as far as bad shots go, they are no worse than they were before worrying about drills and what not.  Just speaking for my experience, obviously.
    • Another good episode. I below its a skill to be able to find a functional swing between where you were and where you want to be. I am guilty of trying to do too much on the course instead of just playing.  The goal is to play golf better. Not turn a round of golf into a practice session.
    • SUMMER HAS ARRIVED!!! Just in time for this golf outing.
