halo vs hibore vs a2

I am in need of a hybrid to replace my impossible to hit long irons. After hitting many clubs @ the golf shop, I have narrowed it down to the Cleveland Halo, Cleveland Hibore, and Adams A2. Have any of you had any experiences with these clubs? What are some Pro's and Con's of each? I cannot play the clubs outdoors until I buy it, so I am basing my knowledge on the golf simulators. Thanks for your opinions!!

I can't really speak to the Adam's A2, but I've had a lot of success with the Halo. The challenge I had with hybrids was that most of the heads felt so light that I couldn't tell where it was in my swing. While the Taylormade Recue Dual and the Callaway FT-Hybrid are both excellent clubs, I couldn't hit them consistently because of the weight. That's why I like the Halo, the club head has got some weight to it, so I can feel it throughout my swing. That weight also gives me more confidence out of the rough, the club feels like it's just going to plow through the thick grass. I don't know much about the HiBore hybrid, other than it looks a little bigger and feels a little lighter than the Halo.

Obviously trying them all out would answer most of your questions but if $$ is a part of the decision making process, Halo's are awful cheap right now.

I was torn between the hibore and halo as well. On the simulator I hit the hibore about 25 yards further average of 10 shots, and much more accurate. Now that I've had it a few weeks, I can say I really like the club. They look almost exaclty alike and I've no clue why there would be such a big difference in performance, but there was. The hibore was also $80 more, but I had just won a bunch of $$ playing poker and rationalized it as a "freebie". Glad I did. On the course this thing is very versitile, and great out of the rough, tee, and fairway. 5 wood is out of the bag forever I think.

I also hit the sonartec and did not like the results as much as the cleveland gear.

This is what Cleveland is saying the differences are:

Where the HiBORE differs from the Halo is in its face profile. Incorporating feedback from Cleveland's staff Tour players, the toe area has become more square in shape, creating a 10% larger face area. The leading edge has also been flattened to further promote a larger hitting area and make the HiBORE hybrid more playable from all types of playing conditions. Its perimeter weighting also expands the sweet spot for ultimate forgiveness.

On the course this thing is very versitile, and great out of the rough, tee, and fairway.

I complete agree here, and I didn't feel this way about the Taylormade or the Callaway I owned; I wasn't nearly as comfortable with these clubs off a tee.

Golf Galaxy is selling the HiBore for $179.99 and the Halo for $129.99. To me I guess $50.00 wouldn't be a enough to change my mind if I hit the HiBore significantly better, but $129.99 is really good deal on the Halo.

I have a Cleveland Halo 2i and love it. I traded in my 5 wood for it as I could hit the 2i just as far and much straigher and consistently. But I think thsi would be true of almost all hybrids. In fact if you don't find it easier to hit than a fairway wood you probably shouldn't buy it. I found that the simulator was pretty accurate in terms of length. I'm not sure why that's a concern. One thing I liked about the Halo was that it had a higher trajectory compared to some of the other hybrids and I can actually hit a green and keep the ball on it. I do think this comes at the expense of a little bit of distance on the roll out on lay ups, but I prefer the control. Just out of curiousity how many have you tried? There are a bunch out there. Try all you can. IMHO there's a lot of difference between hybrids. I tried hitting the Taylormade and it was a disaster.

I couldn't hold out any longer (I think the guys at the golf shop were tired of seeing me anyway). I purchased the Halo 3I. I was hitting it straighter, higher, and as far as anything else I tried on the simulator. Some of the clubs I tried were a complete disaster (Don't think I will ever try Callaway clubs again). So I rushed out to the range to try it for real...I am so dissappointed. You would have thought I was trying to keep the club clean, b/c I topped everything. After hitting half a bucket I finally started to slow down my swing and things got better. Definately needs another range day before it will see the course.

neither go with the taylor made rescue dual you wont be dissapointed there long off the tee and precise off the fairway/rough

I've found I top it every now and again, on the tee I tee it very low, and some times just don't even use a tee. I've had much better results that way.

I think it takes people a little while to learn to hit hybrids...
I found personally that I was swinging it more like a fairway wood, really shallow into the ball. Once I starting using a more descending blow, pretty much the same swing as a mid to long iron, I started to see more consistency.

So after a little chat with my hybrid (yes, golf is making me crazy) I went to the range this afternoon. Finally realized that if I hit down on the ball like an iron it will actually go. One more day at the range and I should be ready to take it to the course over the weekend. Golf is the only thing in the world that the more frustrated I get the more I want to try. Gotta love this crazy game!!

Keep at it buddy. Once you make friends with your 3i you will love it. Before I got my 2i getting on a green from 190 or so was just not in the cards. Now I'm on about 1/3 of the time and close pretty much the rest. Plus you'll find it's much more forgiving. Mishit a 3-iron and it goes nowhere. Mishit a hybrid and you can still get a pretty decent shot.

I bought the hiBore 2i and am spanking the heck out of it.

its a great club and like its been said, its really versitile. I can hit hight cuts with it or hit it all out and get it out there about 225.

i like its high launch, but i like its more "bore-ing" ball flight aswell, as i play out on LI NY and it tends to get very windy.

I really got a good distance jump. i cant compare to any other hybrids unfort tho, other than the titleist 503.h, which i had previously and couldnt do anything with..well other than a snap hook.

Im still getting used to a hybrid in general but this one feels and lines up the best to my eyes, given the few ive tried out (TM rescue and the titleist)

To close, i like the hiBore 2i so much im looking into the hiBore 15 degree fairway wood next. (Am sticking to a titleist 905 driver tho)

Personally and I don't mind mind being the first to say but i actually the preferred the Adams over both of them, sure it wasn't as forgiving as the others but that wasn't what I was looking for. The Adams was just easier to alter the ball flight with..... That be said I still carry my TM Tp 16' and my Alpha 22', still the A2 would be great with ashaft i liked more
