but i think REBBY has it nailed

Well, after my round yesterday I looked back at the stats and I actually hit more fairways than I normally average and I hit more greens than I have been hitting lately although it was less than 9. What failed me yesterday was my putting. Had I been able to do a decent warm up before playing I'm pretty certain I wouldn't have had the three-putt at the second hole (greens were slower than normal). So with a normal putting day I'm where I want to be. So you are correct: f & g are where it's at. If we raise our avg of those and we will score OK.

Good luck with baby number two and enjoy your week of marathon golf. Once you have multiple kids, golf takes a back seat...I know.

i went to my first pro event to watch today

man......those guys DO NOT MISS GREENS and if they do, its just barely all day it was fwy, green and putt that 100% for sure is the key ... oh and up and downs if they did miss a little short, they were holing out or putting it within inches get in the short grass, get it on the green and worry about the rest later

I had to share this although I didn't get to play 18 today. I was able to sneak out and play 9. The range was closed due to several inches of rain the last couple days (balls tend to plug so they close it). And when I got to the club they said if you get out now you can keep from getting behind some foursomes. So with no warm up I hit the course. I proceeded to make par on the first hole after missing the fairway right, missing the green left and almost holing the third shot. I then hit a horrible tee shot on the par three number two and make bogey. On the third hole I popped up a three wood, had to chunk it out of deep bermuda, knocked the third shot to six feet and missed the putt for par. Fourth hole is a par five that I birdie alot......great drive, horrendous second shot that put me in jail....double bogey. So I was four over after four and I got pissed. I told myself that I was going to get it together and make some birds. I then birdied three of the next four holes . Shot 38 and came away with some confidence. I think the key is I have to be aggressive and really get focused on the kind of shot that's going to put me in position to bird. Two of the birds I made putts from 7-8 feet and the third was a 12 foot slider. Fairways and greens are absolutely key, but putting myself on the green in makeable range is huge. Hitting a green and putting from15-25 feet all the time ain't going to get it done.
