Me and this kid are the same age. I get excited when I shoot 1 over at my local par 3 course while he's competing in the British Open. CrAzY

He is my favourite golfer at the moment. One of those players that gets out there and shows ho whappy is to play. Really inspires me, specially through the tough times on the course. RORY is AYOBA!!!!!!!!!!

What's in my bag:

R7 TP Driver 8.5 degree
5 wood
ZB Forged Irons (3 - PW) Vokey Milled Chromed SW Putter

Yeah I said he,d win from the start, Im just gonna keep mentioning that, no offence but how do people compare fowler to this guy, just a different level I feel

Rory is already a proven winner in big tournaments - one each on the European and PGA Tours. Ricky is good but I think Rory is a division up from him, at the moment.

The two youngsters I see hogging the headlines for the next few years are McIlroy and Ishikawa. Radford - "Seems like a good kid, but I'll be surprised if he can keep that pace the rest of the tournament." If Rory can shoot par or better this afternoon (2nd Round) when it's getting windy, then get yourself a chair and prepare to be surprised!!

Rory got undone by the 'The Old Lady' today... badly .
7+ for the day and 4 holes to go.

Yeah guys I think we jinxed him, hes getting his ass handed to him....maybe the uspga championship, I think american golf suits his high ball flight a little better

I feel bad for him and Ryan Moore and a few others. It must be very frustrating to do so well yesterday only to completely destroy all your hard work the next day. Stupid weather.

In the blue Colts bag:

Driver - FT-5 10°
Hybrids - 4DX 15.5°, 20°
Irons/Wedges - CI-7 4-GW, SW | "Free" Warrior 60° LWPutter - TiffanyBalls - various

Weather - but that's just it, isn't it?
Day 1:
Everyone: "ahhh...this course is a piece of p!ss...everyone's going low...overrated course"
Day 2:
The Old Course: "have some of this !!"

63 and 80. What's the largest day 1 and 2 score differential? I don't think 17 is the highest but it made me curious.

I seem to remember someone leading on day 1 with a 64 or something and then failing to make the cut with an 80+.

Racking my brains but I can't remember who it was at the moment. Thought it was David Huish but he was a leader at halfway and then fell back.

PS - Rory had an absolute shocker today. I really thought he'd do better but the course is punishing if you don't get the ball in the right place - and he did NOT get it in the right place! Distance judgement on approaches was consistently poor.

But - another 62/63 fnish and he could still win this thing!

His ass was handed to him. We have to watch handed the belt over to the young'n too quickly. He'll get to the crest soon enough.

Just a bad day, it happens.Oosthuizen got lucky with his teetimes, and I expect him to come way back tomorrow or sunday.Right now, -6, -7 is about right for what the lead should be, So at -1, I'd still give Rory have an outside chance of winning this thing if he gets it together.
A great shot is when you go for it and pull it off. A smart shot is when you don't have the guts to try it. ~ Phil Mickelson.

I wonder if Rory will catch any heat (like Tiger did at the US Open) for what could sorta be described as second guessing the tournament officials:

“I don’t think they should have called us off the golf course. When we got back out there, the conditions hadn’t changed. The wind probably got a little bit worse. It probably wasn’t a smart move.”

Rory's slide started after the delay.

Well considering he was kinda right, I don't think he'll get any stick.A few of the commentators and a lot of the players said it was the same, or worse after the stoppage, wasn't just Rory complaining.Oliver Wilson was far more criticle. It was poorly handled by the R & A.

True about Oliver ... though coincidentally he had a horrible round: 79

63 -80 - 69 I don't think he's gonna make it back to the leader spot. As good as his 63 was, that 80 was brutal and really put him out of it. 69 isn't bad, but that's what the leader shot as well and he's 11 shot ahead of Rory.

Rory handled his 80 well. He didn't throw clubs or swear on mike, he did press after, his comments were fair, and next day he played a lot better. His BBC interview after his 69 was very good. He remarked wryly that he had got some windy play practice in, which helped him on Saturday.

Rory is a class act, and this is part of his learning process. He has majors in him.

Rory was right about where he was on the course - but that wasn't where the problem was. That was out at the point, the 8th-13th holes, where the course is most exposed. Wind had sustained gusts at 40mph. Balls could not be replaced - they were being blown around the place. 'Syringing' (i.e., watering), which someone suggested, would not solve that one. When the USGA had to do that, it had set the greens up too hard and fast; that is not the case at St Andrews. They were playing 10, maybe 10.5 on the stimpmeter - more water would have made no difference at all, unless it collected in puddles. The USGA greens were 15 or even more.
