South course or North course???

Im thinking about making a trip down there for my Birthday next month.

South. The North course has a number of really gorgeous holes, but also quite a few that are pretty ordinary. The South course has memorable hole after hole, and they really fit together with a good "flow". And of course you're walking in the footsteps of one of the more memorable US Opens in years. It's worth the extra hassle and $$$.

Thanks. Thats kind of what I was thinking. They really get you on the $$$ if you don't live in that city though...
Maybe ill just play both. After all it will be my birthday, I should do whatever I want. haha

South Course is a must. Play from the White tees and try to break 100. Pull out some 2008 US Open video and watch before going.

That's OK, the city really hits us with $$$ for all of our other services to live here - it often feels that our resident rate for Torrey is the ONLY thing that our local government hasn't managed to screw up. But they keep flirting with messing that up too!

Also agree with your advice on playing the South vs. the North. Not that there's anything wrong with the N and it has some great holes. It's just that the S is one of the world's great courses IMO - so many wonderful holes. When I finally remember to renew my city card, I plan to play TP more often, e.g. 9 holes before work during the week like a colleague of mine does.

I prefer North because of the gorgeous scenery, but I wouldn't go at all lately they have been just packing people onto the course. Last time I was behind a 5-some of seniors who were walking.
