I've had the same clubs for 10+ years and am looking for a game improvement club to help me break into the 80's regularly. I hit in the 90's now and rarely break 90. Anyway I was looking at x-22's, '09 burners, miz mx 200, nike victory red full cav.... but for the price these look like a killer price compared to what I'll spend on these other clubs:

What do you guys think? First off is it a good deal? Secondly do you think these will accomplish my mission to get a decent club at a cheap price and improve my game? Thanks

If you're looking to improve your game, equipment isn't where you need to look. Unless you're playing old blades, no iron is going to help you drop your scores. I was playing irons for a while that were 22 years old, and they worked just fine. Had they been able to be bent to my lie angle, I'd still have them.

Good deal? I would have to say yes. Will those improve your game? Doubt it. They aren't in great condition either so they won't last that long. How 'bout these?

In my bag:

Driver: Titleist TSi3 | 15º 3-Wood: Ping G410 | 17º 2-Hybrid: Ping G410 | 19º 3-Iron: TaylorMade GAPR Lo |4-PW Irons: Nike VR Pro Combo | 54º SW, 60º LW: Titleist Vokey SM8 | Putter: Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas H7

I love the MX-200s, but hard to pass up the Nikes at that price. My friend got a set and they're good sticks. Whether it makes you better or not there's nothing wrong with a new set of clubs every 10 years.

I've been playing with ooooold Nicklaus Air Bears. I hit some new clubs yesterday and couldn't believe the larger sweet spot and control I was getting. So I actually think the new technology in clubs these days will help my game.

I really love the mx200s and had them on my short list. I couldn't pass up the price on the sumos though. I picked up "MINT" sumos from global golf for $250 which they said look brand new. Free shipping too. I figured it was worth it to pay a little extra for MINT clubs. You don't think I'd post a link to the clubs I actually wanted to buy and risk someone snatching them up do you? :)
