In a reply to another post, I mentioned that I am sending my new Titleist AP1 irons and Ping V2 driver to a company in Florida that uses the SST PURE technology to find the optimum alignment of shafts. One member wrote to say I was wasting my money. Has anyone had shafts re-aligned? And did it make a discernible difference in the feel, distance and accuracy of the clubs? Curious minds want to know.

I recently had all my clubs "splined" (cheap version of PURE), but I had other things done to my clubs as well (lie/loft adjustments, different size grips). Since all the changes happened at once I can't really tell which changes affects my clubs and which didn't. All I know is that when they put my driver in the vice thing to find the frequency it just started bouncing all over the place, and when they aligned it it just oscillated straight back and worth like they claimed it would after being splined. I don't know if the effect is that big, but it shouldn't hurt.

    • Day 297: putted for about 25 minutes, working on 30 foot putts. Then went and hit balls for about an hour, just focused on getting the ball to go where I want it. Not my best session, but figured it out better at the end.
    • I do use a 7 wood. Love it! Do have a specific question about 7 woods?
    • @DrizZzY does. 😄
    • does anybody still use a 7 wood? if not what do you use instead>
    • Day (2 May 24) - somehow I missed posting both Tues and Weds practice sessions - so the streak ends and a new one begins…. Focus today was on ball first contact using the Divot Board for reference.   Worked with 7i, 9i and GW hitting hard foam balls.  Started hap hazardly and then settled back into my pre-shot setup.  Much more consistent in the latter.
