I made the mistake of going to Pings web fit tool for a set of irons the other day and went to ebay looking. Just going to look kind of thing you guys know about that I'm sure. There was an exact set of G10 3-PW that the web fit called for that the guy wanted 450.00 for or best offer that he played two rounds with. So I offered 350.00 including shipping and he took it, should have offered 300.00.

My G5 Pings will be going on the auction block in the upcoming weeks.

But they shipped Friday so I hope to see them mid week.

Congrats! I looked at the G10's also, I have G5's. but ended up going with the G15's, I lucked out and found a set for $389 plus shipping, and I had to send them to Ping to get changed to white, so I am in them for about $500, which is not too bad.

Congrats!! I got my G10's used also at Golfsmith. $400 2 years ago. One big benefit of living in the metro Phoenix area, is I had them re-gripped, reset the lie's and had them back the next day from the Ping factory here in Phoenix. Their customer service is second to none.

I got them today and the guy didn't fib about the use. It looks like the 3 has one paint mark from hitting off a T the 6 and W have been used but the rest don't even have a ball mark on them. Looks like a good deal I'm going to find out tomorrow after work how they hit.

I went to Golf Smith Tuesday and picked up a few dozen Nike soft balls the try.

They are orange and 1/2" longer but I was told when I bought them they were adjusted to black. I have a free adjustment on them from the store I bought them from if you need them a different lie.

I would like to get 250.00 for them. They have Ping coard grips as well.

Thanks Mike. Sounds like a reasonable price. Now let me try to convince the wife.

Not quite sure why you went from the G5's to G10's, not much difference between the 2 except for colors. I play the G2's and the biggest difference side by side that I can see in the 3 are the cavity of the G2's and sole width. The G2's have a mid width sole compared to the fat ones of the other 2. Congrats tho', I love the feeling of that package on the way. Waiting for another set of irons myself right now.....

To tell you the truth I wanted something new and shiny and just happened on these. I made the guy an offer and said what the hay if he takes it I get new stuff if not I still like the old ones.

I knew I could hit the G5s and didn't want to stray to far from the known (I am not verry good and would hate going backwards). I have a buddy with a set of Nike cav back clubs that I can't hit any good at all (he's about the same hight etc so they should fit me OK). Anything Ping seems to hold their value as long as you don't abuse them as well. I have an old set of G2s that I bought when I started plaing that were the wrong lie etc for me that I should sell as well. 3-SW with a set of woods 1,3,4,5. They are just collecting dust in the den.

    • The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO
    • Day 32: worked for about 10 minutes on my drill. Filmed it as well for a check in. I think it’s slightly better but still seeing some issues.
    • Day 44 (26 Dec 25)  -  played in the Friday men’s shootout with a twist - used the Toney Penna persimmons and MacGregor blades - had a blast playing these clubs.  They really help in zoning in on making solid ball contact.  Scoring was solid - had several looks at birdie and had a few par saves.  Overall a day of focused course management.
    • Day 2: 2025.12.27 Eighteen holes at Kauri Cliffs. Focusing on trying to keep flex in right leg during backswing.
    • Day 136 12-26 Had a different practice planned today but life happened. Worked on "wide to wide" and still working on remaining flowy. Starting the club head in front of the ball as a drill, is helping with the flow of the swing.
