Yep, they suddenly appeared with my irons out of nowhere. I went through most of the round with them, but at the 15th hole I figured it out (sort of). I was wondering if someone could confirm it ...

So, I thought that I was taking the club too flat and to the inside so now I'm taking the club back feeling more to outside ... am I right in this? Can a flat swing cause shanks?

its possible yea. but it might be something to do with your hands, maybe they are getting too rigid and the blade of the club is remaining way too far open which brings the hosel into play which = shankapotimus. i remember when i shanked a 7 iron from the middle of the fairway during a tournament. the hardest shot ever was the one i had to hit after that. just do what romeo told roy mcavoy in tin cup lol; turn your hat around backward and stick a tee behind your ear. the point being to not think about it at all really. at an 8.6 you hit your fair share of good shots so just focus on those. you know your capabilities with a club. shanks are weird. its better to not over analyze. i dont understand them; they are possibly just a mental thing.
