Good Breaks?

Did I get one today! The 8th hole at Brookside is a 194y par-3 with a lake in that guards the front right, and a tributary of the LA "river" along the left. Usually at least one dude in a group will hit it in the river, and well, today was my day. Luckily, I clipped a tree that kicked me out of trouble and over the green! Then what do you suppose happened? I chipped in for birdie! So from a bogey at the best to a birdie. Hooray golf!

My last round was full of good breaks. On two different tee shots, I watched with dismay as they sailed right, clearly fairly deep in the trees. In both cases I found them on or very near the fairway, so they must have kicked off a tree in the right direction. On another, I bladed a hybrid but still found the fringe of the green on my second shot on a short par 5 --- somehow I had exactly the left-right trajectory I'd hoped for, but never got more than about 5 feet off the ground. Just about sunk a ~50 foot chip for eagle and had a 2-foot tap-in for birdie.
