A lot of good. First thing might be to let your right knee straighten (lessen the flex, not "lock out") on the backswing to prevent the hips from swaying back.

Thanks for that tip, Eric! In actually seeing my own swing (this is the first time I've seen a video of my swing in a long time) the first thing I noticed was that my legs have quite the swaying motion. I try the right knee tip and see if it stablizes my lower body a little more. Thanks again!

Address position--could be camera angle, but your feet appear to be aligned a bit open toward the left on the 7 iron. Right hand grip appears to be stronger (right hand "V" pointing to right shoulder). Left "V" pointing to chin. I'd like to see your hands in a more forward position at address, especially with the driver. Your left wrist, especially with the driver, is very cupped at address.

Backswing--your first move on the backswing is handsy (you roll your wrists back). +1 on the hips/legs

Forward swing--you don't quite get your left hip far enough forward soon enough and lower back doesn't extend quite enough with the 7 iron, thus your arms get to impact relatively early compared to your body=hands flipping a bit at impact and arms don't extend great into release and follow through. However, on the driver, your hips get more forward, your spine extends more, and arm extension is much better compared to the 7 iron.

Nice leg extension at impact.

Well, if you're soliciting uninformed commentary from the peanut gallery...

Your left wrist appears quite cupped at address, which seems (it's hard to tell at full speed) to promote the same sort of position through impact. Your attachment is also markedly closed -- your hands are low and very close to you. The butt of the club is pointing maybe at the base of your zipper where a normal neutral set up would have it roughly in line with your belt buckle. This is usually going to require a steep return to the ball at impact and produce a fair percentage of straight pulls when you don't time it quite right. Is that at all in line with your experience? Last impression would be the knee action -- as Erik already noted you have to come forward a long way to get into a good impact position because you translate off the ball so much on the backswing. My left knee used to break in very much like that too and the advice I got was to try and feel the initial flex go more out toward the left toe rather than back toward the right ankle.

Like your move from the top of the backswing through to the finish. Good hip slide and maintenance of your inclination to the ground. Very classical!

Indeed. When my swing gets "off" - I usually start pulling it. I will experiment with my hand position at address

I like the down swing and how you keep the plane. I don't like to mention grip too much because mine changes from shot to shot to shape them. However, one thing I think that would benefit you is to keep your lower body more still. You want to rotate and your upper body but try and keep that right leg as still as possible. I am more of a rotation guy rather than a slide all over the place guy. One drill that helped me is to bend over like at address and hold the club across the chest and just rotate my torso. I may be a high handicap but I'd say I am pretty good ball striker. If only I could putt....

    • It’s not live on free to air tv in the UK, and hasn’t been since 1995. ( I pay a subscription to Sky for generally good golf coverage). There are limited highlights on the BBC for some golf events, but that’s it. Are other/all PGA events on NBC?  Allowing ticket scalping is a systemic failure across sports and showbiz, which could be legislated against, but in the UK is not in any meaningful way. I don’t know much about the secondary market in the US or anti scalping measures.  Charging more to keep prices down is an interesting concept, in practice no doubt you are right even if It sounds a bit Catch 22  Do you think sports tickets and broadcast rights  should be sold on a purely capitalist basis, or is there an argument to say that some sports might benefit more from wider exposure and affordable access. ( golf in the US is apparently not one of these if tickets sold out at those prices so quickly)  Fans might benefit from cheaper tickets and in the UK at least, TV coverage that reaches a wider audience.

    • Day 65 - 2024-12-04 Helped @NatalieB with her stuff on the force plates, then hit some balls working on the left wrist stuff. Picking up the club.
    • Day 216 (4 Dec 24) - Dink and roll Weds - working on the green side short game covering 5-10 yd chips to low running pitches to about 50 yds (I have accommodating neighbors).  Focused on keeping stance more narrow, eye target about 2” in front of the ball AND not looking up until I see the ball leave.  This drill has really enhanced my confidence in making more consistent ball strikes.
