So I was just playing a round recently and my 9I head flew off of my shaft. They are 1989 forged irons on a steel shaft, and I didn't take a divot so I'm assuming that the glue just let go due to how old that they are.

Is there a certain glue or anything that I need to buy to fix this, or something that I should be aware of? It shouldn't be a big deal since it's essentially like making a new club but I have zero experience with this...

You mean the shaft didn't break and the head just slid off? Clean the hosel and shaft and attach with the use of epoxy.

Yeah, that's exactly what happened. Good to know it really was as easy as I thought it was. Thanks!

I don't really have shaft cleaning type liquid shown in the video to make sure the epoxy is all cleaned off; is there anything special that I should pick up, or will something simple like soap and water work for me?

Same thing happened to day with my 6 iron. On the 3rd hole a Par 3 I'm hitting my 6 iron and right after contact it just flew off. Felt really weird. All of a sudden the club got 10 times lighter and I see the head of the club whistling into the woods.

If it is steel you can sand off the old epoxy. Just make sure to sand it real good and get all of it off. Make sure also to clean out the clubhead as well. If old dried epoxy is around you will be doing this again shortly.
