Ok i was at the driving range today and im doing reall well with my irons and woods..but my driving isnt as good at it used to be..its either Far and striaght a small pull or push and a small hook or slice.

I can use my old swing and get it about 220 yards straight or i can use the ( left arm straight, wieght shifting ) swing to get about 220-260 max not so straight.

So has anyone got advice for a good straight pretty far driver swing.


Driver, there are 3 things to a driver to hit it long straight and high, 1. full weight shift to the right knee, 2 make sure you maintain your spine angle, you can check my keeping your right shoulder up at the top, 3 start your downswing with opening with your left hip to make sure you are on plane and for the most power.

you have to be careful when you try to speed up your downswing too much if you over swing it youll start pulling it directly left maybe even with the duck hook spin which will pretty much cause blow up holes. if you speed up your down swing be sure to have an equal speed back swing and good rhythm. i found rhythm and tempo to be the key to hitting my driver straight and far. but the spine angle and address is important also.

Try turning your left shoulder in a bit when you address the ball. This can create torque in your back and promote club head lag.

I would suggest disregarding the wider stance, it just makes you more balanced and actually causes you to try to swing to hard and drop the club head behind the ball. Play it forward and remember that your hips start the downswing not your arms. To get the most power maintain the 90 degree cock in your wrist for as long as possible.

If you videotape yourself you want to see your hands infront of the clubhead by about 5-6 degrees.
