I dont know if this was directed at me, but it is not such a disaster as one might think.

First I purchared the club at a local liquadation sale, where 12 of the local courses get together and sell off all thier surplus. I walked in to find a 60 volkey spin milled marked at $50. The one next to it was $90. I came back an hour later and inspected it, looked fine. I offered $40, the guy dropped to $45.....MINE!!!!!

Anyway I use my 60 degree Volkey from 50 yards out or less. I use it to chip on the fringe and lob shots.

Part of me thinks I use it too much as my 56 is getting cob webs. (I hit my 56 60 to 75 yards, but I am rarely that distance).

I have been looking at going down to a 54 and taking both the 60 & 56 out of the bag.

As much as I like my 60 for short shorts, I find my 56 volkey ( I paid full price to match the 60) to be not nearly as forgiving as I would like.

I have a 50 Callaway Big Bertha Gap wedge that is forgiving and awesome.

I might have to go try other clubs and find something that is forgiving. I hear Cleveland is forgiving.......

In my Grom:

Driver-Taylormade 10.5 Woods- Taylomade 3 wood, taylormade 4 Hybrid
Irons- Callaway Big Berthas 5i - GW Wedges- Titles Volkey  Putter- Odyssey protype #9
Ball- Bridgestone E6

You believe what you want to believe, and "feel" is a lie.

Watch any Mizuno videos where they discuss newer irons like the MP-63 and they talk a lot about "tuning" the iron to produce a pleasing sound, because it's a certain sound that good players associate with a solid shot. They try and make that sound easier to produce - they're tricked up.  It's really no wonder that Mizuno Tour players either kept their old irons or jumped right over that line.

I know - OT.

Mizuno MP600 driver, Cleveland '09 Launcher 3-wood, Callaway FTiz 18 degree hybrid, Cleveland TA1 3-9, Scratch SS8620 47, 53, 58, Cleveland Classic 2 mid-mallet, Bridgestone B330S, Sun Mountain four5.

And all equipment companies know that sound = feel.

    • I  had to return to boast  just a  bit. Everyone  knows  i thought  this  is  how the Championship should  be decided. Match play is far  better than stroke  play to determine a  champion and  its  much closer to most sports  playoffs. Lose and you are  out.     Promotion, relegation and match play: PGA Tour unveils radical new structure The PGA Tour has revealed its planned changes to its competitive model, schedule and playoffs, changes that will be more substantial than any in the Tour's half-century-long history. How will the PGA Tour series wrap up its season? The current PGA Tour playoff format consists of three stroke-play events, concluding with the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. Starting in 2028, the Tour's playoff system will feature match play, and will rotate through various courses. Further details will be revealed at this year's Tour Championship next month.
    • Posted a couple swings here. I think my attempt to blend the movement still results in a more “around” back swing?
    • I never heard dislike for them.  From my perspective, they are just like any other club. Though, they were always probably over-priced, until recently as other club manufacturers have been raising prices the past 5+ years. You had to wait for them to go on sale, which you can get them closer to other club manufacturers.  They sell good clubs. Nothing crazy..
    • Why do so many people dislike PXG clubs and constantly criticize them? All the folks at my club and especially online, I never hear good things about them except from people who bought them and defend them. They look fine to me but curious is there some sort of quality issue or is it just stereotyping the buyers.
    • I have the LM1 launch monitor and I’ve been very impressed. I agree with your assessment and it’s very accurate for me and ease of use is wonderful. The price point of $199 is very hard to beat with this form factor and performance. I was previously using a PRGR.
