Simple question here:

At impact for the driver where should ones hands be. I know the Snt swing says hands ahead at impact, but im after a more conventional swing perspective. The videos i have watched of most pros the hands are about level with the ball when striking the ball with the driver.

Watching this video of Scotty McCarron in slow motion, it is apparent his hands are slightly ahead of the ball at impact but the club head quickly passes his hands as he releases. Though I hit the driver pretty well this summer, I experimented with this. The only thing that I discovered was a "hook" when I tried to keep my hands behind the ball at impact.

Interesting thread Binga. I find a stronger grip (than my old one) and the hands leading the clubhead through impact, along with learning about lag, has transformed my golf game this past year. I apply that to the driver as well. I have not hooked a ball this year. The hook was my long time nemesis. But truthfully, what I perceive as the hands ahead of the clubhead (with the driver) may in fact be more equal. I have a Casio FS10 coming in tomorrow ($99 on Amazon) and will get some 210 fps footage and see. You got me curious to be honest. I know my hands are leading the clubhead on irons. Bobby Clampett's "The Impact Zone" taught me so much. A must read if anyone has not read it. But for the driver, I can't honestly say, but I perceive my hands are in fact ahead of the clubhead at impact with my driver. When I over do it, or when I over do the lag, I tend to push my drives. However, no hooks and no slices, so for now I am content. Still working out the bugs, but these are small potatoes compared to what I was dealing with a short time ago. I was a classic flipper. No more thanks to Bobby Clampett.

A little off subject but how does this Casio camera compare to the FH-100?

The Casio FS10 is $100 and the FC-100 is about $250. For $250, I would look at the FH20 or newer FH25. I have a FH20 and it is awesome. However, I work out of state and left mine back home. So I bought a FS10 so I can record my golf swing now. I don't get back home till Jan 18th. At $100 I was willing to pick up a second camera. The FS10 is much smaller than my FH20 so I will keep it in the golf bag in a small hard case I bought for it. Joby Gorilla pod (flexible and small tripod) will attach camera to golf bag. Pretty convenient. As for quality, the FS10 is the lowest, but I saw some great footage on Youtube before buying mine. Go to Youtube and search FS10 golf swing. 210 fps is a great recording speed and all these cameras will do this. In good sunlight, either of these three will work great. In low light situations, the FS10 will be the poorer performer. Amazon has all three models.

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
