I was thinking the same thing, given the Bush tax cuts are about to expire. I don't think she's a U.S. citizen, so not sure how that all works for her. No matter what, making a donation of that size is more about her generosity than tax planning.

Absolutely. Wasn't being cynical just curious that's all. In Aus if you donate to charity you can claim over 50% of your donation as a tax write off.
