Had the swing evaluation at Golftec today. My swing was soooooo bad, I mean, just seeing it, It was obvious. What was I thinking? the gd club as laying on my back.

It made sense to get the 6 month at the time. I still think it makes sense, but am looking for feedback from the innanet!

Well, if you can tell your swing is not what you want it to be, I would give it a shot. I used to film my swing to see what I needed to work on. Its about time I did it again now that I am more consistent than before. Now Golftec is a great service. (I do not work for them) I got an evaluation at a golftec and it was very thorough and to the point. Go ahead and give it a shot, it the price isn't too steep.

If its cheaper than buying a video camera + the software to slow down your swing frame by frame + a swing speed/ball speed monitor + a monitor that you can look at all the stats. I would say it is definitely worth it, the best teaching pros are now using this technology, so you should take advantage of it too. Plus it will yield you the quickest results because you can visually see what you are doing and connect it to the feel. I've had this type of lesson with a local pro and it really helped me with my compact zone, and now I am hitting the ball solid and on a ball flight I desire.

The real question is not whether you should work to improve your game or anything like that... the real question is: "Is GolfTec instruction the best use of that money?"

GolfTec employs a lot of instructors. Some are bound to be better than others.

Since I'm of the opinion (with some proof) that the vast majority of instructors flat out suck, well, you can imagine what I think of the odds of getting your money's worth.

P.S. This is still relevant: http://thesandtrap.com/playing_tips/...ouve_gotta_ask .

What would you do if you were searching for instruction for yourself? I've been holding off any lessons/evaluations for the fear I might waste my time with some douche who has a halfway decent swing and a know it all attitude. Is there a way to know who is going to be able to help you out without pulling the trigger?

Ask to talk to the guy for half an hour. If you're serious and planning to take even four to six lessons over the next few months that half hour is well worth it. Do the instructor quiz thing (subtly). Ask to observe a lesson (DO NOT interrupt).

If he doesn't understand the ball flight laws or he can't describe to his students simple things and instead gives the "bad teacher" type advice like "okay, rhythm was a bit too quick there..." or any of that kind of crap... bail. Talk to some of his students. See what they like and don't like. In the end, go with your gut. It's like buying a card - you need to make a commitment in order for it to really work, but you can't let the fear of choosing wrong paralyze you.
