Had a decent session at the range today, and just wanted to jot down some of the things I worked on. Up until now, my main swing keys have been: weight forward, deep hands, arms straight. Today I focused on straightening my right leg a bit to allow the hips to turn. I noticed that this move really works in tandem with the inside hands and weight forward, so it felt pretty natural.

All in all it was a productive session. I love having specific things to work on now since I'm following a set pattern. When I hook or slice a ball I can usually figure out what went wrong (for example, arms lifted up on the backswing instead of staying connected, or arms broke down through impact instead of staying straight).

The only problem I forsee with S&T is staying committed to it. Because it is different from alot of standard golf instruction, it is real easy to hit one bad shot and start thinking, "Uh oh, maybe they're right and this doesn't work after all." I just have to keep reminding myself that I have made some pretty big improvements in a short amount of time with S&T.; It's going to take practice and patience like anything else.

When you hit 9 out of 10 good shots, do you think "Cool! Maybe they're right and this DOES work after all."? :)

Absolutely! I was thinking that with my driver today. Thanks for the comment.

Golf is like everything else in life....we often get overly fixated on the few negatives rather than the many positives. Sounds like you are appropriately fighting that human urge.
