hey guys, im a pretty solid golfer w/ about a 9 handicap, and my ballstriking is very good from my driver down to my wedges on most occasions. What i screw up too much is my contact on chip/pitch shots from 35yrds and in (i have even shanked a few!). Can anyone give some advice on making solid contact on chip shots from off the green?

I find that I am not maintaining a consistent swing with my shorter chips. I 'let-up' (with the actual shot) as compared to the practice strokes I'll take to get a feel for the shot I'm about to attempt... (That's my major issue).

At 35 yrds you need to practice by choking down on the club and taking a half swing and follow through. practice with each wedge and 9 or 8 iron for the shot your looking for.
Better golfers seem to practice the short chips more than full swings with the short irons. If your driving and second shots always put you at those distances that is where you need to work at.
