Hi everyone,

What a great looking forum with some very intresting posts this will provide me with much reading when the weather here is too bad to play.

I've have only returned to the game of golf about 18 months ago after a 20 year lay off, my handicap is about the same as it was when I was 16 but the changes in the game are huge!.
My handicap at the moment is an un-offical 8, I'm not a member of any club and to be honest I don't get to play enough to consider joining anywhere just yet.

Since being bitten again by the golfing bug my wife has also started to play and tends to drag me out at weekends even if it's pouring down just to have a quick pitch and putt around our local par 3 course

a 20yr. lay off . . . WOW

I had a 15 yr lay off and really struggled to catch up with the technology and the changes, before i stopped we talked about the courses, the holes, the strategy, and not a whole lot about clubs, but when i came back it was all about the clubs, the balls, the shafts, grips, etc. . . a total shift in focus to technology.

I must admit we had more fun in the old days because there really weren't many options for clubs or balls, so it was all about just playing the course and we weren't even thinking about . . . "maybe i should change my equipment, get a new shaft, tweak this and that . . . "
