I am looking for a new shaft for my R9 Supertri. The stock one just snapped underneath the grip . It was a bit too spinny anyway. I'm looking to keep the price under $100 installed. The setup I am using is 9.5 with stiff flex.

When I hit the driver at the store last week the numbers were something like this:

Launch angle: Around 11-12

Spin rate: Between 3100-3400rpms

Clubhead speed: 105-110mph

Carry distance: Just over 240yds

I would like the launch to be similar with the new shaft, but want to bring the spin down to the 2500-2700 range.

EDIT: I did the Ture Temper online fitting thing, It's recommending me a Prolaunch Axis platinum shaft in X flex. (which is within my price range) and I'm also looking at the Proforce V2 and Adila NVS. Any other recommendations?

Hey man, i have the same driver and have been thinking of replacing the stock shaft also.

Are you going to do it yourself and fit the sleeve adapter to the new shaft or go to a pro?

Great value at that price. If you don't like it, you can always try it on a different club later on.

Probably the best value... for $20 plus the cost of the installation I'd give it a try if I was you.

Stay away from the NVS. The NV Voodoo is a low spin/launch option.

you wont be able to tell if your bringing down spin, without actually trying out a shaft in that head, on the LM

if you plan to do this without the help of a LM, then you will want to look for a low spin shaft....and more than likely combined w mid to low traj as well

i have used both the Graffaloy PL Red and the Graffaloy PL Red Axis

i LOVED LOVED LOVED the Axis version of the red

i currently play the OG PL Red in my HY and FWY woods and they are really smotth feeling shafts

the Axis shafts a litte priceir than the regular PL versions

the OG PL red can be had for $20 and is a steal and is a low launch low spin shaft

my buddy just picked up an OG Platinum for $30 on the bay as well, which are mid traj and low/mid spin as well

the only real difference between the Axis and the OG is the torque numbers are slightly higher on the Axis versions

the OG (original) Platinum and Red's can be bought and installed under $100 easily

the Axis versions a little pricer for sure and might be out of your budget

Have you tried replacing with Fujikura Motore F1.  That will put the spin down....  Selling on the internet around $90 USD.

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to go ahead and order the PL red. The only place I can find it for $20 is Rock Bottom golf. I've never ordered from them before, are they a reputable site?

EDIT: Do you guys think the PL red is too low launch/spin? What flex do you recommend?

Rockbottom is VERY reputable, but don't be surprised when it comes tip prepped and on;y 45" versus 46" if you would buy it from someplace else.
