Found this article in a blog: http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5007/5288950677_bda0856733_b.jpg They played 18 holes in that round, so speed of play was pretty fast. Anyways, interesting article. Slow play was a problem way back then too.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Good article. Times change, but people don't.

I think there are some people who live their lives slowly and are slow in everything they do. I know a few. They are just not constituted to move faster. There are also people who are entirely wrapped up in their own life and are unable to consider their effect on others, or don't care. And because personality profiles aren't assessed on the first tee, both of these kinds of people play golf. Unless their pace gets outrageous, they're just our cross to bear.
