Just realized that they dropped the annual membership fee by 50%.

Seems like for iphone only.

I am not surprised as MyFreeCaddie pro is free and provides all the same features as golflogix. I still dont know why people continue to pay for golflogix when there are free apps that does the same thing.

One of the best things about Golflogix for me is that I can download a course on the tee box. If I forget to do it beforehand with freecaddie, it is usually too much of a hassle to worry about it.

Also, unless freecadddie has changed, all the courses were mapped by users. I have found quite a few errors in the local courses. So much so that I just created them myself.

$40 a year is too much, but $20 is not a big deal.

Or pay one time fee of $30 for the best GPS app, GolfGPS and be done with it.

Waiting out the 2 feet of snow that just dropped on the course....

WOO!  I have the Golflogix on my blackberry, so I just called them up to ask.  The rep there said that the Iphone just got updated ahead of schedule, they are dropping the price across the board in the next week or two. Not that I care, it was a father's day present, so my son's the one whose paying, but still. (And, about 45 seconds on hold, then a person speaking to me in ENGLISH that I could actually understand, answering my questions without shuffling around paper and reading from a script.  Better service than ANY app has given me. )

Yukari, I tried myfreecaddie before my 3GS went through the washing machine.  HATED it.  Not sure what people were doing when mapping courses, other than perhaps donuts in the cart.

Cassino, A lot of the apps toss Golf GPS on the end of their names, but I haven't seen one JUST called GolfGPS.   Link?

    • Day 121: did a bit of mirror work with my driver. Working on shortening the backswing.
    • Day 305 - Grip and backswing work. Full swings were bothering the hip a bit.
    • Day 56 - 2024-11-15 Light day. Lots of catch-up work. Checked the grip to make sure I wasn't compensating there, and did a little backswing work.
    • Day 197 (15 Nov 24) - Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management.  Solid round of 83 (41/42) - 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.
    • Have been on a mid to low 80’s roll of late - today was no different with an 83 (41 front / 42 back).   Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management, delivering 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.  Local course starting to get that winter feel - wet areas wetter, thin grass thinner, greens  trickier.
