To improve my ball striking (& ultimately my scores) I am working on my swing, especially irons. I am having lessons and overall there has been some good improvement, however, I don't seem to be able fix the main issue which is Overswing where my left arm collapses. Physically I am fine to get into a good position at the top of the backswing and in practice (with some effort and real concentration) I generally do but as soon as I play my shot my left arm bends too much. I tried the swing extender and a couple of other training aids but I can't help feel the fix lies in a swing thought or something else when I am on the course. Has anyone found a way to improve this?

Start by hitting what will feel to you as "half shots" ...left arm straight at P3 (left arm parallel to the ground)...and hit "punches". Gradually extend the swing but be prepared that when you keep the left arm extended properly, your backswing will feel very short until you get used to it. Remember when the chest stops moving back, the arms do as well.

When your shoulder's stop rotating so does your arms, don't extend more than when your shoulder's stop rotating..
