When does my distance start to improve?

I improved my distance a lot last summer by learning about lag.  I got so tired of my friends hitting their wedges when i had  my 9 iron up

I started doing Crossfit also which increased my strength.

Luke Donald, who plays the new MP-63s, was given the JPX-800 clubs to hit during a recent testing day and the results were pretty dramatic with a 17-yard increase in his carry distance with a 6 iron, he hits his normal 6 iron 168 yards. 17 yards to thees guys is like a mile for us especially with a 6 iron, but you could bet your life he wont change clubs and lose the feel he gets from his MP-63s

It was actually PLAYING 200...it was downwind...and there was trouble beyond the green. Those guys both pull 5 iron from 200 yards under 'stock-shot' conditions.

Increasing lag is a lot more difficult than just learning NOT to throw away the angle entirely...which is what most guys do. Casting the club doesn't just lead to loss of distance, it leads to erratic irons and wider dispersion. The hands and wrists are pretty unreliable when the clubhead is moving so fast.
