Yeah, but Gill, the Masters is only 3 weeks away and I've got to be READY!

From a DTL view, your mechanics on the way back are looking very good.  You're building a solid foundation here.

I'd suggest you make sure and keep a bit of flex in your right knee during the backswing.  Think of pinching a beachball between the knees, keeping a constant pressure on the inside of your right foot.

Second (as mentioned) hip slide.  Once you get the ball position forward and your weight moving through to your left, you'll see big results!  Try and imagine a rope looped through your belt.  As you start your downswing, someone is tugging on this rope, and pulling your weight through to the outside of your left foot (feel it roll a bit) as your hold your finish.

Once again, great, great work.  I'm excited to track this thread.

Thanks for the feedback delav, I'm definately trying on the hip slide, but it feels awkward and I just don't know if it's because I've never done it before, or if I'm doing it the wrong way.

Start with shorter swings. Just feel like you're hitting punch shots. Surely you see the second impact position looked a lot better, right?

Also, I liked the left setup better. The one where you were less straight up and down, that is. I think that was the left one.

Absolutely the 2nd impact position looks better. That's why I was so frustrated that none of the resulting shots were good. I do try to hit punch shots, but I always tend to switch back to full shots to "check" on how the feelings translate. Then I hit it fat, then I spend the next 30 minutes hitting full shots trying to work out the fats. I'll try to be more disciplined.

Roger that on the setup. I like the posture in the first one as well(hands about level with the top of the knees), but the second one is the only way I seem to be able to get the butt of the club pointing at my belt buckle (trying for the "open attachment" in the S&T; book to reduce the fades/slices). If I try to do this with the 1st posture, I end up looking like Moe Norman with my arms way out...

    • Okay, so my children and I got into a heated debate at the dinner table last night.  We were discussing making Christmas Cookies and got on the topic of what is the best cookie.  I personally think the Oatmeal Raisin is the best. My kids mocked me. "THAT'S AN OLD MAN COOKIE!"  Seriously? Does anyone besides me love the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie?  And if not, what is the best cookie?

    • Day 3: 12/12/2024 Okay, so I've already put in about a 1/2 hour of mirror work on my priority piece which I've nicknamed PPJ. The first to P's are starting to feel less bizarro but the J is still too late. As of now, I'm still thinking about it too much. So, although I'm anxious to hit balls, I'm sticking with the mirror work for another day or two. Then I'll move to the garage net.  I set up a small station right outside my office so every time I go in or out I can do a slow-mo PPJ in front of a mirror.
