This is my first post on this forum. so, I hope I do this right. This is just a quick clip of my golf swing. This is the first time I am actually seeing my golf swing. I don't know what to think. doesn't look to bad, so, I just wanted to see what you guys thought.

It looks pretty handsy with a lot swaying. I'd try to turn against a more ridged right side and really "throw" your hands/arms down the target line.

You've got a really nice tempo going there.  I wouldn't change too much.  Like Gill said, make sure you brace against your back foot, never let the weight get outside your back foot.  Other than that, looks good.

thanks guys.

I understand I do sway a bit. by bracing against the back foot, that will help keep my weight from swaying to much? I think I understand what you guys mean. trying to keep my weight more centered and not sway it back behind my back foot.

the handsy part I don't really understand. I feel that my wrist hold the 90* angle with my arms all the way to impact where I release my hands to come through the ball. by handsy, do you guys mean I am bringing my right wrist around to quick?

thanks again for the input. hoping I can eventually get a good solid swing down.

you keep your wrist hinge on the downswing very well.

what i think everybody is talking about is you backswing is very handsy. looks to me that you start your backswing with your hands. it should be a one peice takeaway starting with your arms and then hinging your wrists. seems to me your doing both of these things both at the same time.

I don't see the "handsy" problem, and I don't think it is one, as long as you stay on plane, which it looks like you do.  Hogan started his backswing with his hands, or so he said, and Ben Curtis clearly does.

The bracing off the back leg is just as you say.  Don't ever get your weight to the outside of your back leg.  Just feel like you are in the batters box in baseball but, instead of stepping into the pitch, you drive off the back foot in your downswing.

    • Part of the clubmaker's process, in this case, is to have the player come back after a few rounds for any necessary tweaking, FWIW.
    • I totally agree with this but beginners are not good players that can adjust to almost every club setup.  A ping certified fitter, ex pro that plays at my home course, told me that the idea of the fitting in this case is to give the player the clubs that are at least suited for his body type in general. (body, arms, hands, strength, speed, etc) so he can go an play or have lessons with clubs that are not perfect for him but close enough. From there is up to the player to come back for another fitting in the future in case he feels his current clubs are no longer suited for his new swing/mechanics.  So.. I vote basic club fitting then lessons.
    • Okay, so my children and I got into a heated debate at the dinner table last night.  We were discussing making Christmas Cookies and got on the topic of what is the best cookie.  I personally think the Oatmeal Raisin is the best. My kids mocked me. "THAT'S AN OLD MAN COOKIE!"  Seriously? Does anyone besides me love the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie?  And if not, what is the best cookie?

    • Day 3: 12/12/2024 Okay, so I've already put in about a 1/2 hour of mirror work on my priority piece which I've nicknamed PPJ. The first to P's are starting to feel less bizarro but the J is still too late. As of now, I'm still thinking about it too much. So, although I'm anxious to hit balls, I'm sticking with the mirror work for another day or two. Then I'll move to the garage net.  I set up a small station right outside my office so every time I go in or out I can do a slow-mo PPJ in front of a mirror.
