Just got back from demo day. I came back from overseas (not much golf for 1.5 years) and played some of my best golf with my brother's clapped out MP-33's. Just got back from the demo day and got fitted for some MP-68's. Now the just a 2 week wait!

One thing I found interesting is that I was fitted for 1 degree flat which was shocking as I used to take toe  deep divots. I've been trying to incorporate a S&T; type of swing and I'm assuming this is from the "deep hands"... When the irons come in, I'm going to sign up for Evolvr... Really stoked for Spring!

I was expecting a thread talking about how you blew your whole tax return on multiple sets of clubs or something. Congrats on the new sticks.

A new driver and woods were on the table... Nothing there could knock the Sumo2 out of the bag. The Ping G15 came close, but nothing else was comparable. I've heard good things about Adams  but they weren't there, probably for the better!

forgot to ask, how much did you get the irons for? when we had demo days at my local courses, they would give a little discount.

Only 10%. I don't mind paying a bit more to keep the local guy in business. I've noticed he keeps less and less stuff in stock each year and he lets me use his swing weight scale and hit demo clubs. So I felt obligated to pay a bit more to keep him going.

Hard to feel sorry for you. After rain all day Wed and Thurs which melted all the snow (Toronto area), got hit with another 5 inches or so Friday!!!!  So while you're waiting for your club, I'm just waiting for the damn grass to appear!

      _sigh_ so close to red text.  Went away for three days, but didn't do a practice morning-of-departure (Friday) nor evening-of-return (Sunday), so I had three misses, back to day one. Day 1, May 4 2026.  At home today, spent nearly an hour in my practice room, hitting about three dozen practice balls, primarily with my 6-iron.

      Day 254 5-4 Arms off chest in backswing and downswing. Short swing, pause and then hit.  Hit foam balls. Keeping arching of wrist a focus as well.

      I would think of it in terms of time. The time it takes to get the arm angle into a good position to deliver the club with proper shaft lean. Another component is rotation, but that is also a matter of timing. It relates to how the body stalls to give the golfer time to hit the ball. If you have to get 80+ degrees out of that right elbow in one third of a second versus 50 degrees in the same time then you have to steal time from somewhere. It is usually body rotation. That does not help with shaft lean.  I agree in that amateurs tend to make the swing more complicated than pro golfers.
