Last summer I dislocated my left knee hitting golf balls on the range...

Because everyone knows golf is a contact sport.

Well after about 4 months of rehab I was able to get back to hitting balls and playing again.

Some flare-ups on my right knee (fractured my femur in 7th grade running. running ), caused me to go to the doctor in january and get an MRI. The day after I get the O.K from doc to go golfing, I injure my left knee at work (picking balls out of the driving range lake).

I told my boss "Look man, I can't do this crap anymore. Put me up in the cart barn." In my practice speeches. It came out as "I'm really sorry but I can't do the range anymore right now, It's killing my knees. I'll go to the doctors and get a note for just cart barn."

So the doctor says that if there's any more injuries to my left knee, he's going to have to scope it out. Yea... I have chronic tomophobia; fear of surgery.

A couple months later and a heck of a lot of rehab, I'm now confident enough to be able to play golf again. I don't know any other way of describing how it felt to hit balls again after that long leave of absence from golf, other than orgasmic (italics needed).

So I envy all of you healthy golfers. Don't take you're health for granted. I'm only 17 years old, and I'm close to never playing again if I don't rehab and take care of myself.

And I shot an even par 36 this weekend. I've still got it

Congrats and wish you well.  But how the hell do you dislocate your knee hitting a golf ball?

This makes me nervous...I have VERY bad knees from 8 years of skateboarding....sometimes my left knee feels like it's going to implode.....

This post makes me want to get it checked.

Welcome back man....good to see the game didn't elude you and you can still hit it well

Thanks everyone :P

And apparently my knee was a little swollen from work and stress on it (doctor says I have premature arthritis), and it was weak. It felt good but the knee cap was raised up a little bit because of swelling under it so it just dislocated
