Today I was at the driving range, still focussing on hitting a baby draw with the driver.

I normally take away slow and a the top of the backswing, I give it all and try to swing through the ball at a lot of speed, the ball gets a good WHACK and goes out at a decent speed, but a lot of balls fade or slice.

Today one of the guys at the driving range was hitting ball after ball, but with a smooth swing and all balls went out like hell. So I asked how his balls went that long with such a slow swingspeed. The guy said his ss was still around 100 Mph.

He let me hit a few and told me my ss was probably around 130 Mph about 1 feet before hitting the ball, but actually slowing down at impact and that I was hitting the ball instead of through the ball.

So I also slowed down my swing and tried to accellerate through the ball ......

Guess what ........ + 20-25 yds by a much better contact and an instant draw ......
