My husband recently suffered an injury that still allows him to golf (Thank God!) but makes it very difficult to walk for long distances. We live on a course in a golf community and used to just walk to the clubhouse, but now that's impossible, and it just seems silly to get in the car and drive a block away, especially since the walk from the parking lot is almost as long as the walk from our house.

I've checked with our club, and they would be willing to allow us to use our own motorized golf cart so I'm thinking about surprising my husband with one this year for Father's Day. I've been shopping around a bit online and most of the sites I've found relate only to non-golf uses and modifying carts into things that look like monster trucks, so I thought this might be a good place to look for advice.

So... can anyone offer tips and ideas of what to look for in shopping for a golf cart? This is one of the golf carts I'm looking at, but I'm just not really sure what I should be looking for. Any advice is appreciated. TIA!

That seems like a reasonable rate but you get what you pay for... I might contact some clubs around you that might have a used cart you could buy from them. You might pay $1500 but get a cart originally worth $4000 or so. Plus you'd have a chance to check it out first, in person.

The cart I see is for a single rider...get some pricing on ezgo, yamaha and clubcar re-conditioned models. A decent one will be in the area of $2000 and can not only hold two golfers but I would bet that even 5 years from now, you could sell it for $1200 - $1500
