Hey Everyone!!

I am looking into take lessons for this awesome sport, but do not really know where to go or what to look for when I am choosing where to take my golf lessons.  I live in Langhorne, PA and was wondering if any one from the Philly/Bucks County area could help a brother out on where to look.

The only two places that I know that offer lessons are Snipes Farm with Golf Professionals Ed McClure, Mike Moser & Jason Krier or Golf Galaxy in Langhorne.  I like that Golf Galaxy has the cameras and all the computer stuff, but I like that Snipes has an actual driving range and pitch and putt course to practice on. I just do not know how well the lessons are that you get from Golf Galaxy.

Any options would be a huge help.

Thanks,

Steven

As a teaching professional;

Any lessons will be helpful. Golf Galaxy is great. They do not just take fly-by-night instructors. The fact that they use video, and such is the best. I also you video in ALL my lessons. I honestly do not think you can teach golf without it. You need visual feedback.

Most important make sure you and the instructor 'click' !

Alternatively if you feel like taking a drive down to the Jersey Shore, I could fit you in. ;) hehe.

You off on the Right Foot with the Game Taking Lessons is a must if you want to become a Zero Handicap Man, and who don't? It also helps to play with a friend that is a good golfer as you are learning the ins and outs of the game. Practice putting, and chipping day and night and your game will come together quicker. Regardless of what you are told, or is said to you about golf and your ability to play the game as you start "Stay with the Game". Good Luck.

I'll be keeping a close eye on this thread for my next Philly business trip. I did debate about the trek to Erie to see Erik or David but I think it'll be a bit hardcore when I won't be driving over there. Steve Sieracki perhaps?

We'd recommend Steve. He spent time with us in Erie before opening his own place out there at Burlington.

I took a few at the Devon golf galaxy from Leigh Taylor who is a master pro and really good instructor I thought.   I have another one scheduled for the end of this month.

That would be a bit out of the way for you probably though, not sure who the instructor at the Langhorne store is.

    • I'm bad about taking pictures, but here are a few Hole 1 on Duke, looking toward the green. The elevated green with bunkers surrounding it was a theme. The other theme was pin placements that were tough - this one is pretty far left. There were basically no easy pins on this day.     Hole 3 at Pine Needles. An extremely cool hole. Hole 5 at Pine Needles. The picture doesn't do the green site justice. Green of 6 at Southern Pines. A wild green, and a really cool setting at the edge of the property: Hole  Tee shot on 5 at Tobacco Road. Flag is on the flag, the huge fairway is to the right. Hole 8 at Tobacco Road. Downhill, medium length par 3 with this pin in the front part of the green. Really cool looking shot. A look at the pin placement and cottage on Tobacco Road 14. I hit one of my best shots of the trip here, to about 15 feet.
    • Yes, but season 2 being all of six episodes is a bit of a let-down, even if the season itself wasn't.
    • This is one of the greatest posts I've ever seen in my life on sports message boards like this!! Bravo, Sir!! 👏
