Anybody out there bought AJ Bonner's "The Truth About Golf"? I purchased a copy but have to say that it didn't really live up to the infomercial hype. Although AJ is an engaging presenter, ultimately in a long winded way he really ends up stating the obvious, i.e. you have to control the club face properly through the impact zone to hit good shots. Big deal whats so revolutionary about that!!! Did I miss something? Anybody else got an opinion?

Sorry to hear that, but I personally believe that AJ's revelation of whatever he knows about golf... is actually his subjective idea. I would have not wasted any money....

Hi

go to your PGA professional guys-in my opinion instructional videos are a waste of time because its very hard to teach yourself how to play-even Tiger doesn't do this!!-he's got Hank

Yeah, he basically says to hit the back of the darn ball... *LOL*

To be honest, he did teach me to relax and enjoy the game. Ever get mad when you hit a bad shot? Happened to me all the time and my game would spiral into misery. He made me take a fresh look and realize that a perfect swing and/or shot doesn't exist! Seems obvious, but it wasn't to me until I watched his DVD. With this simple paradigm shift about the game, my scores actually improved because I'm not tense.

Have you guys even seen the video? His main point is to swing the clubhead like a baseball bat, and make a "mini-homerun".

With that being said, I did not enjoy the video, and did not take anything away from it. I don't know anyone who turns the club like that in the backswing and then the other way.

Also, to the person who says instruction DVD's/Books aren't helpfull, that's flat out wrong.

I've never taken a lesson in my life. My game is from lots of practise, and books/DVD's like the Short game bible and the Plane Truth.

And? What's so revolutionary about that? Just about every instructor on the planet uses the baseball analogy. Cash for old rope!!!

Got Leadbetter interactive. Pricey but very comprehensive and clear presentation. The swing analysis software included is great too.
