I found myself giving advice in the forum today on the golf swing.  I really don't want want to be doing this!  But, I do know about bending club lies, and what weak wrists do to the rest of the swing.

Instead I would like to share with others fighting the grand loosing battle.  I will put off having to play "pat the ball" as long as I can.  In looking for teachers....I find myself doing the teaching.....that's  sad.

Everything's orienated to stiffer shats, wonder drivers, and hitting 20 yards longer then last year.

Anyone know where to go to share knowledge?

PS:  I am looking for an instructor whos willing to work with me.  One that teaches on grass. (LA/Orange County)

Why look outside Sand Trap?

I just turned 60 this fall, and have had one major and two minor surgeries since 2005. In 2008-09 I made an overdue switch from stiff shafts to regulars.

Too-stiff shafts had really wrecked my tempo, and was bleeding off distance. After a year of getting used to more "help" from the shafts, I'm starting to look like a golfer again on most holes.

Club, Grips & Shafts.. and Fitness & Exercise are two TST forums I would recommend for older golfers. Instr & Playing Tips is a good also.

Also, I sense that some people  on TST exaggerate how far they hit their driver. Just my opinion...

I'm already playing a soft "A" shaft, soft ladies ball, soft grips.

See a  Chiropractor, Acupuncturist,  Diet (starve) to keep weight off the joints and all the usual adjustments to fight off the living grave of a sofa and TV.

I have worked out a swing that lets me fly the ball 100 yrds with a wedge.....knees locked  with no pressure on the left ankle at the finish....using centrifugal force instead of muscles.

I'm interested in how others are playing golf with ruptured discs. Bone spurs. Frozen joints. Hands that constantly tingle at best, and lock up at worst.

I would like to hit a club past 150 yrds. Those long par 5's are killing me!

You might look at this TPI Analysis thread in Fitness & Exercise.

http://thesandtrap.com/forum/thread/41896/tpi-analysis-anybody-had-one

Trainers certified by the Titleist Performance Institute can give you a physical analysis of your range of motion, and show you:

  • Exercises to improve it
  • Swing motions to bypass limitations resulting from past physical injuries

In a recent post on the thread, a TPI trainer offers to field questions from S-Trappers. You might PM him with specifics of you problems. Hang in there, and good luck in keeping on golfing!

Thank you for that link.  That's the kind of information I have been searching for.  Some instructors are local and Headquarters is only an 90 minute drive!
