Hello, I'd appreciate if some of you (experts?) could take a look at these swings and provide feedback. Thanks for looking:)

Hi, first thing I notice is your head moves way off the ball during your backswing. Try to stay more centered over the ball and make more of a turn with less sway. Then let the hips slide forward to initiate the downswing. This should be a good starting point.

Two things I noticed right away.

1.  You move your head back off the ball during your backswing.

2.  It looks like you finish with the majority of your weight on your back foot.  Need to improve your weight transfer to the front foot during the thru swing.

I do like the tempo however...you take a nice pause at the top before starting the thru swing.

I'm no expert, but:

1)  The first move of your downswing is a dramatic drop of your head.  A drill you might consider is to have a partner hold the butt of a club still under your chin through your backswing and a VERY SLOW downswing (do not use a ball for this drill).  Keep your chin on the butt of the club.  The idea is to get a feel for what it feels like to hold your head still, and the club provides a reference point for this.  Repeat this several times and then hit a few balls and try to replicate the feeling of holding your head still.

2)  Your knees appear completely locked at address.  Knee flex is vital to rotation and weight shift through the ball.  As a result the first move of your downswing is to bend your back knee (also a major factor to dropping your head).  Flex your knees from address and hold that flex through the backswing.  You will need to be careful not to bend your knee more as you start your downswing as you are doing now.  The above drill should help with that, because if you bend your knee into your downswing your head will drop.   Reference any tour pro for an appropriate amount of knee flex and good knee action trough the swing.

3)  You are doing a good job of loading your weight on your back foot in the backswing, and now you need to work on shifting that weight to your front foot through your downswing and into your follow through.  You should finish the swing with ~90% of your weight on your front foot.  Again, watch a tour pro's swing in slow motion for a good model to copy.

4)  You would probably benefit from slowing your swing down (especially the PW).  Once you fundamentals are a bit more solid you would want to reincorporate speed into your swing.  To be honest your swing is at its fastest well past the ball (something you'll work on in time), so you may not notice much distance loss from slowing it down.  In fact, with better mechanics and cleaner contact you may find you hit the ball farther with a slower swing.

your ball position is too far forward  w the pw and the iron

grip position is too strong

set up for pw is too square

agreed that the reverse weight shift is not working, think about how you throw a baseball after the ball is thrown, your weight is on your front foot.

I love the driving range looks like it is eastern bloc

the back view is worthless

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
